Abroad {week 7}: Spain

I did not take the daily photos this last week like I should have! oops. It rained every day last week so I didn't always have my iPhone and DSLR out. I did partake in activities, though, so I'll write about them and show multiple photos from a selection of days this week!

6.14 / Tuesday was a rainy day. The kids and I stayed inside and played Monopoly. Earlier that day I worked on editing photographs and tried to figure out why my laptop was running so slowly. It's still running slowly so I haven't fixed it. Tuesday was the least fun day of all last week as you can probably tell.

6.15 / 6:41 post meridiem // Paloma and I are standing under a cluster of trees as the rain poured down at the park. The boys were playing football in the rain while we stood and watched, staying dry. Earlier that day Tatiana and I walked to a local bar for some coffee and on the way back we got caught in the rain. My jacket stayed wet all day.

6.16 / 11:38 ante meridiem // I took an early walk while the sun was still out on Thursday morning. I decided to keep walking and headed back to Pazo Do Rio which I posted about visiting last week. I took a photo almost exactly like this last week. The scenery is so pretty that I just had to post another again! I will return with my DSLR when it's not raining to get better images.

6.17 / Friday was a chill day. I walked outside for an hour while listening to podcasts because the sun was out for about an hour. Other than that I edited photos all day. Then the kids came home with their dad to watch Spain play football (they won again!) I didn't have to babysit Friday night for the first time because the dad stayed home while Maria was on her way to Madrid to see her sister. Her sister gave birth to a baby boy Thursday night! Because I was free that night I went to the local bar and drank 2 margaritas while watching the football game and then headed to Tatiana's house while she babysat.

6.18 / 6:00 - 7:30 post meridiem // All day Saturday I stayed inside working on photos and babysitting. By the evening time I was restless so I took a walk to Santa Cristina beach for some coffee and beer. These are spots I walk by every time I go to the beach. Remember that white car from last week? The one parked exactly like this in front of the house with the pink roses?! Well on Saturday they had a yellow car there. I thought it was awesome to see another vintage car parked there so I took another pic.

6.18 / 12:02 ante meridiem (techincally Sunday) // Tatiana and I went out drinking and dancing and on our way to the bars we walked across the popular square with the City Hall. They had a banner up saying " A Coruñua #CidadeRefuxio" meaning 'city shelter' for refugees <3

6.18 / 3:48 ante meridiem (technically Sunday) // On Saturday, Tatiana and I went out in A Coruna. We visited the "coolest" disco in the city. And it truly is the coolest disco. It was Vegas level cool. It was huge! There was a smoking room, a massive dance floor, 3 levels of floors, DJ's and lights everywhere, and we partied there until 7 am.

6.19 / 6:33 post meridiem // I slept in until around 1 pm on Sunday seeing as I went to bed after 7 am. I didn't feel so well after partying all night so I just chilled in bed and worked on photos and writing for most of the day. However, I got restless and needed fresh air so I took an evening walk to the beach. I walked up and down the sand for about an hour. There were people everywhere. People were playing football and volleyball, kids were building sand castles, and there were people actually swimming in the frigid water. It was a beautiful evening.

6.20 / 3:59 post meridiem // Yesterday Paloma gets home running through the door yelling, "Madeline! Madeline!" And here in Spain my name sounds more like Madeleine which is beautiful so I love it. Anyway, she's running up the stairs to me and shows me that she got me a little gift. She bought me a pink donut and she had one, too.  We both went to the kitchen to eat them together. She told me how I am supposed to eat it. You make chocolate milk and break the donut apart and dip it in the milk. I chose normal milk while she chose chocolate milk and we enjoyed our little snack together.
