This week was full of sunshine and beaches. You gotta remember to treat yourself ;)
5.30 / 9:54 post meridiem // I love this house and garden. I took a night walk and stopped to glance at the beauty of the dusk sky, bright yellow house, and lush green garden. I walk past this house all the time and always admire it.
5.31 / 3:21 post meridiem // This is one of the hip places to hang out in Santa Cristina. I have committed to bar fidelity to a bar right next to this hotel. I sit on the patio people watching and sipping beer next to this hotel's patio where drinks and food are always served to locals and visitors. The area is a wind block so the ocean breeze doesn't disturb you as you sip your drink and burn under the Spanish sun. It's pretty great!
6.1 / 2:29 post meridiem // First day of June and the weather was perfection. I decided to lie on the beach for the first time on Wednesday. I did get burnt but it was worth it because it was a consistently warm day with lighter winds than normal so it was very pleasant. Afterwards I grabbed a beer, made the 30 minute walk home, and played with the kiddos for 4 1/2 hours. I was exhausted by bedtime. Sunshine does that but I'm not complaining.
6.2 / 7:29 post meridiem // The kids were super energetic this evening probably because the day was so nice. They were tumbling and jumping all over each other having fun in their backyard.
6.4 / 9:01 post meridiem // Friday nights are either pizza or McDonald's nights with a movie, Coke, and candy. Jesús came home with this for me. I had never eaten one before so I thought it was funny that the first time I ate the American hamburger was while in Spain. Why eat McDonald's when you grew up in Texas? There's Whataburger.
6.5 / 8:45 ante meridiem // Saturday mornings are quiet. The parents sleep in and the kids can play on their technology with their headphones so they are locked away in their rooms focusing on their digital games. This is OK with me because I like to be alone in the mornings. I like quiet mornings and having the kitchen to myself.
6.5 // 4:33 post meridiem // We visited Jesús's parents' house again. I walked down to the beach with Alvaro and his cousin. It was an overcast day so the water was a grey/brown, the tide was high so there was little beach to walk on, and there was a dead fish nearby. This is a completely different looking beach than the last time I visited. Don't ever judge a place too harshly by its looks if you have little experience there. If this were my first time visiting this beach then I would never have felt like it was the paradise I had recently written about.
